Charles Douyon is a legal and compliance expert with over 12 years of experience in financial regulations. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, a strong connection to sports marked his early life. He moved to Long Island during high school, where his passion for basketball and football flourished. After high school, Charles enrolled at Northeastern University in Boston. Still, after the events of September 11, 2001, he felt the need to be closer to his family during such a tumultuous time. He transferred to Berkeley College in New York, majoring in Business Management and Finance. He graduated magna cum laude in 2005, marking the beginning of his journey into the world of business and law.

After graduation, Charles began his professional career in finance, joining a financial institution on Wall Street. In this fast-paced environment, he gained valuable experience in investment strategies and financial operations. While he appreciated the work, he realized that his true passion lay in the legal aspects of finance. This realization prompted him to make a significant career change in 2007. Charles left his finance job and enrolled in Northwestern University School of Law. The transition from finance to law was challenging, but his background in business allowed him to approach legal issues with a practical perspective. He graduated in 2010, entering the legal profession when the financial industry underwent massive regulatory changes after the Global Financial Crisis.

To further deepen his expertise, Charles enrolled in the Master of Laws (LLM) program at Fordham University Law School, specializing in Corporate, Banking, and Finance Law. This program provided him with advanced knowledge of financial law, and he supplemented his education with internships at key regulatory bodies like the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). These internships allowed him to gain hands-on experience and develop a deeper understanding of the regulatory framework governing financial institutions.

Charles has held various legal and compliance roles, advising financial institutions and investment firms on navigating complex financial regulations. His expertise in laws such as the Dodd-Frank Act and the Securities Exchange Act has made him an invaluable resource for firms striving to stay compliant with industry regulations.
